Team Canada FootGolf Selection Criteria 

Purpose: 
We have outlined the eligibility criteria for athletes seeking selection to represent Team Canada. These criteria ensure that selected athletes possess the necessary skills, experience, and commitment to perform at the highest level of competition.

1. Citizenship and Residency

  • Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada, or be able to show a clear connection to Canada.  

2. Age Requirement

  • Must be at least 18 years of age by the start of the season. 
  • Junior players (under 18) are accepted if the tournament requires them. 

3. Skill Level

  • Demonstrated talent in FootGolf, evidenced by performance in FIFG events. 
  • Outstanding performance at FootGolf Canada’s FIFG events is one of the most important factors for consideration and will be tracked by Footgolf Canada. Results for these events will be posted to scoring platform BlueGolf for all players to view. 

4. Tournament Experience

  • Participation in a minimum of one (1) FIFG event worldwide in the FootGolf season. 
  • High ranking in national or international FIFG events will be advantageous.

5. Conduct and Sportsmanship

  • Demonstrated good sportsmanship and conduct both on and off the field.
  • No history of disciplinary actions or breaches of conduct in previous competitions.

6. Team Compatibility

  • Ability to work well within a team setting, including effective communication and cooperation with teammates and staff.
  • Positive attitude and the ability to contribute to a cohesive team environment.

7. Technical and Tactical Understanding 

  • Strong grasp of the rules of FootGolf.
  • Ability to adapt and execute game plans as directed by the team captain.
  • Adherence to all rules and regulations set forth by FootGolf Canada and the FIFG. 
These criteria aim to ensure that Team Canada is represented by the best possible players who are not only talented, but also committed and professional in their approach to FootGolf. 
The FootGolf Canada is a not for profit Canadian Association comprised of member Golf courses and member FootGolf Players. FootGolf Canada is a proud member of Federation for International FootGolf (FIFG), the World’s Governing Body for the Sport of FootGolf.
