FootGolf Canada (FGC) is responsible for oversight of all things Footgolf in Canada. FGC consists of every course and every player enjoying this sport and we govern the sport to ensure that the game is played professionally and politely. Therefore, every player must agree to and adhere to the below terms and conditions in order to purchase a FGC membership and FIFG World Tour license. The terms and conditions have been issued and approved by FGC, and are in full force and effect as of January 1, 2024.
The FGC Rules Committee (Committee) will review all situations and make rulings on the merits of each case. The committee currently consists of Matthew Mariani, Nikko De Tranquilli and Donald MacKay.
Final decisions regarding disqualifications and/or license suspensions will be made by the committee. There is no appeal process. The player shall respect FGC’s decision.
Code of Conduct
The code of conduct is an official guideline for all players with a FGC membership and FIFG World Tour license purchased from and granted by FGC. All players are required to follow the code of conduct. Any violations of the code of conduct will be determined by FGC and it is within FGC’s complete and sole jurisdiction and discretion to disqualify players and/or suspend licenses upon reviewing a violation. The code of conduct aims to ensure clarity, fairness, and adherence to the highest standards of sportsmanship and professionalism within FootGolf.
Etiquette: etiquette violations can result in disqualification and/or suspension from future events. Violations include, but are not limited to: cheating; loud, abusive, obscene, and vulgar language; physical abuse, threats of physical abuse, verbal abuse, slander or libel of other players, spectators, sponsors, host golf course staff or members, or FGC staff or volunteers; disrespect towards volunteers, course officials, industry professionals, staff, and other competitors; mistreatment and/or vandalism of any FGC golf course; social media posts slandering any FGC sanctioned course, FGC, its sponsors, its volunteers, and other players; vandalism or mistreatment of any hotel or FGC sanctioned host facility before, during or after any event.
Alcohol, Tobacco, and Legalized Drugs: FGC acknowledges that all of these are commercially available and legal for use at a host FG Course. The host course has the final say on the use of all of the above on their course. All players will adhere to the Laws of Ontario governing this use and consumption which are enforced at all establishments licensed by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO). These facilities are open to inspection at any time and violations by any visitor will put their license at risk of cancellation. It is extremely important that you understand this concept and agree to follow all directions at the host facility. Should FGC receive complaints from a host facility, or other FootGolf players, it will be considered a violation of the code of conduct and will be reviewed by the Committee and possibly result in FGC disqualification, cancellation of membership privileges, and/or license suspension.
Cheating: Players will abide by the FIFG rules of fair and honest competition and are expected to hold others accountable. This includes being honest about your score and the score of other players by confirming and recording each player’s score at the completion of each hole. FGC will determine if cheating has occurred in any given situation and, if confirmed, will result in disqualification and, where applicable, license suspension.
Rules: All players are required to familiarize themselves with the official rules of FootGolf, as outlined by the FIFG. The Rules can be found here: https://www.footgolf.sport/rules Any violations of the official rules will result in a decision to be made by the Committee regarding disqualification and/or license suspension.
Attire: Proper FootGolf attire (Golf) must be worn at all times during competition. This includes collared shirts, golf style shorts/pants with belt loops, skirts/skorts, long socks, no logos of other professional or amateur sports teams other than FootGolf, and turf soccer shoes. Examples of incorrect attire include, but are not limited to, the following: soccer cleats or cleats of any kind, t-shirts, sleeveless shirts, basketball shorts or shorts with professional team sports logos, and short socks. Weather appropriate clothing is permitted. Players are to consult FGC if they are uncertain about attire compliance. Any attire violations will result in a decision to be made by FGC regarding disqualification and/or license suspension. Spirit of the Game and Reporting: FGC may disqualify a player and/or suspend a player’s license for serious misconduct for acting contrary to the spirit of the game. FGC will consider the totality of the circumstances in making its decisions. In doing so, FGC may conduct investigations with the players involved and will require full cooperation from those players during the investigation. Every player has a responsibility to report misconduct to FGC. FGC will not tolerate any retaliation against individuals who report violations of the Code of Conduct.
Other Associations/Tours: The FIFG World Tour license grants each player the opportunity to participate in FIFG World Tour events. Members of FGC will not join any other FootGolf association for any reason. Any player who is found to be a member of any other FootGolf association or tour, or who participates in a competing tour, other than the FIFG and FGC, will face a review by the Committee who will make the decision regarding disqualification and/or license suspension.
Events: All FIFG World Tour events in Canada will be hosted by FGC only. Any licensed player that attempts to host an FIFG event within Canada or a competing non-FIFG event, without FGC’s knowledge and permission, will be subject to a review by the Committee regarding disqualification and/or license suspension.
